DI Khan: Four officials injured as terrorists target check post

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A group of terrorists attacked a police check post with rocket launchers and hand grenades in Dera Ismail Khain on Friday.
The terrorists were repulsed by the timely action of police. According to police, the terrorists hurled rockets and opened heavy fire late at night at Takwara post of Kalachi police station in DI Khan. DPO Muhammad Shoaib Khan, along with DSP Hafiz Adnan and the squad, gave a swift response and as a result, the terrorists were repulsed.
The officers at the checkpoint were rescued during the operation and four officials were immediately shifted to hospital. Law-enforcement agencies said this was the biggest terrorist attack on any police post in DI Khan in which about 20 terrorists surrounded the check post from three sides and started firing with the modern weapons including PG Seven rockets and hand grenades. The terrorists escaped during the two and-a-half hour operation, sources said.
Some of the terrorists were killed and others injured during the rescue operation and they were taken away by their accomplices. Police said security had been tightened across the district after the incident.
DPO Shoaib Khan said police would not let the terrorists’ nefarious designs succeed at any cost.
