Sindh health minister trapped in Karachi hospital's elevator
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Health Minister Azra Fazal Pechuho was trapped in an elevator at a public hospital in Karachi on Friday, Dunya News reported.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader was visiting the Civil Hospital to attend the inauguration ceremony of children’s surgery ward when the incident occurred. She was heading back from the ceremony when she, along with other provincial ministers, medical superintendent of the hospital and others, got stuck in the elevator.
The hospital staff rescued the minister and other officials by breaking the elevator.
The provincial government allocated Rs206.98 billion for health services covering primary, secondary and tertiary care facilities and prevention of diseases in the 2022-23 budget.
