At least 1,696 people died in recent floods: NDMA

The PDMA reported that 2,000,048 houses were damaged by the rains and floods in the country.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Since the beginning of the monsoon rains (mid-June), Pakistan has been affected by floods, landslides, flash floods, and severe weather-related incidents, which have resulted in a humanitarian emergency.
According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), at least 1,696 people have died so far due to floods across the country. As per NDMA report, a total of 759 people died in Sindh, 308 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 336 in Balochistan, 221 in Punjab, 48 in Azad Kashmir and 23 in Gilgit-Baltistan while 12,867 persons have been injured.
The PDMA reported that 2,000,048 houses were damaged by the rains and floods in the country out of which over 719,857 houses were completely destroyed while 1,280,191 houses were partially damaged.
The PDMA reported that the heavy rains caused loss of over 1,162,000 livestock. The PDMA reported that 13,097 km length of roads and 440 bridges were damaged due to the floods across the country.
