Intercity bus fares likely to rise by up to 20pc

Lahore (Dunya News) – The fares of intercity bus service expected to increase by 20pc after the government announced to increase petroleum prices, Dunya News reported on Friday.
According to the Intercity Bus Service Association, the increase in import duty on petrol, diesel, tires, oil and other equipment has led to higher costs, forcing them to raise fares.
The association further stated that, after the fare hike, the fare from Karachi to Pindi expected to increase from Rs. 3800 to 4000, from Karachi to Mansehra from Rs. 5000, from Karachi to Sukkur from Rs 1400.
The final decision on the fare hike will be taken soon.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Vegetable Manufacturers Association has asked its members to increase the rent of edible oil trucks by 22.50%.
