PM Imran dissolves all bodies, wings of PTI after weak performance in KP LG polls

The decision has been taken after poor performance of PTI in KP local bodies elections.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has dissolved all the bodies and wings of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following the party s poor performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local government polls. He has formed a 21-member supreme committee to devise strategy for the next local elections. 

The first session of the supreme committee chaired by PM Imran was held in Islamabad today to discuss strategy regarding the upcoming elections in KP and Punjab.  

The meeting was attended by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar, Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Minister for Local Government and Community Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, Senator Saifullah Niazi, Amir Kiyani, federal ministers Fawad Chaudhry, Hamamd Azhar and Shafqat Mahmood.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Federal Minister of Communication and Postal Services Murad Saeed also participated in the session.

The members reviewed the list of candidates contesting for mayor polls in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Gujrat and Sialkot.

In a post on social-networking website Twitter, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry informed that consultative meeting of senior PTI leaders will also be held today in Islamabad.
