Omicron patient escapes quarantine center in Karachi

38 people have managed to flee quarantine due to the absence of security.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – A 35-year-old patient of omicron variant of coronavirus ran away from quarantine center in port city of Karachi.
According to details, the infected individual travelled to Karachi from Britain and first tested positive for coronavirus and it omicron was confirmed later through genome sequencing.
The patient who was being quarantined at a private hotel on Shahrah-e-Faisal escaped the facility.
So far, 38 people have managed to flee quarantine due to the absence of security.
On the other hand Pakistan has reported 7 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,290,848. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,870 on Saturday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 357 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 13,057 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,649 in Sindh 5,907 in KP, 963 in Islamabad, 745 in Azad Kashmir, 363 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.
Furthermore 478,942 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 444,119 in Punjab 180,938 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 108,240 in Islamabad, 34,633 in Azad Kashmir 33,548 in Balochistan and 10,428 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
