CM Balochistan acknowledges PM's notice on Gwadar fishermen's demands
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Quetta (Dunya News) – Chief Minster (CM) Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo acknowledged Prime Minister’s (PM) notice on Gwadar fishermen’s demands.
He went on to say that the Balochistan government will ensure to execute the line of action directed by PM. The initiative is totally in favor of human rights. He further said that the government is on its way of taking steps to finish all unreasonable check post and trawling practices. He said that the institute of PHO will solve all problems related to supply of water while collect funds for development, simultaneously.
Moreover he said the government decided to end token system while the security of national water boundaries will also be observed strictly. He said that the government is providing funds to ensure development of old Gwadar city while problem related to electricity are being resolved. The catering of fishermen’s demands was already in agenda of the current government meanwhile PM’s recommendations have added urgency in the execution of the plan.
He further said that under the interests of federal government, Balochistan government will ensure the promotion of fishing industry not only in the country but also all around the globe. CM Balochistan further said that a complete report of the developmental work will soon be presented before PM.
Earlier today PM Imran Khan took notice of the demands of fishermen in Gwadar, assuring that strict action would be taken against the illegal fishing by trawlers.
“I have taken notice of the very legitimate demands of the hardworking fishermen of Gwadar. Will be taking strong action against illegal fishing by trawlers,” the prime minister said on Twitter.

He also assured them to also speak to the chief minister of Balochistan on the issue.
The fishermen in Gwadar had been protesting against the devastating impact of illegal fishing by trawlers along the coast on the livelihoods of local fishermen.
