Khursheed Shah released on parole to attend sister-in-law's funeral

Khursheed Shah, his son Farrukh have been released on parole for 12 hours from Central Jail Sukkur.

SUKKUR (Dunya News) - Pakistan People s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah on Friday night was released on parole to attend sister-in-law s funeral, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, Khursheed Shah and his son Farrukh Shah have been released on parole for 12 hours from Central Jail Sukkur to attend the funeral of their close relative (Khursheed Shah s sister-in-law) in Karachi.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khursheed Shah was shifted to Central Jail Sukkur from NICVD Hospital earlier in the day.

PPP leader was arrested by the NAB from Islamabad two years ago on September 18. Few days after his arrest, he was shifted to a cardiac hospital where he remained under treatment.

His son Farrukh Shah was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau on June 12, as he surrendered to a Sukkur court on the orders of the Supreme Court.

Later, he was produced before an accountability court in a case of assets beyond known sources of his means. NAB has filed a corruption case against him, his father and other relatives. Apart from Khursheed, who is the major accused, the other co-accused are his two wives, two sons, two nephews, contractors and alleged frontmen.
