Terrorists inside Afghanistan opened fire on a military checkpost in the Bajur district of KP

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred after terrorists opened fire from inside Afghanistan across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that terrorists inside Afghanistan opened fire on a military checkpost in the Bajur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The ISPR also said that Pakistan Army troops responded in a "befitting manner". “As per intelligence reports, the troops responded to the firing and killed two to three terrorist and injured three to four others,” it added.

During the exchange of fire, two soldiers identified as 28-year-old Sepoy Jamal resident of Mardan and 21-year-old Sepoy Ayaz resident of Chitral were martyred, the ISPR statement said.

"Pakistan has consistently been asking Afghanistan to ensure effective border control on their side. Pakistan strongly condemns the continuous use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan," the ISPR maintianed.
