Afghani, Western nationals to evacuate from Afghanistan are now being brought only to Islamabad

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The US has changed its plan for the transfer of Afghan transit passengers as the decision to bring the passengers from Afghanistan to Karachi has been postponed.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the decision to bring transit passengers from countries including Europe and Afghanistan to Karachi has been delayed. The sources also said that the Afghani and Western nationals those have to evacuate from Afghanistan are now being brought only to Islamabad.

“The US has also significantly reduced the number of people being evacuated from Afghanistan. Lahore and Karachi airports are currently on standby for the transfer of Afghan transit passengers,” the sources maintained.

The sources further said that the Afghan transit passengers brought to Islamabad will be transferred from Pakistan in a short period of time. “The transit passengers coming to Islamabad will be sent to foreign countries from the airport in a few hours only. The transit passengers will be kept in Islamabad’s hotel only for emergency basis,” it added.

The sources also mentioned that the Sindh government has been informed about the changing plan about the transfer of Afghan transit passengers.
