Firdous Ashiq barred from entering Punjab Assembly
Firdous resigned as SACM on information on Friday.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan was barred from entering Punjab Assembly on Monday.
As per details, the former SACM arrived at the assembly to attend the oath taking ceremony of Ahsan Saleem Baryar but was shocked to know that she was not on the list.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, who resigned as SACM on information on Friday, less than a year after being appointed to the position, said that she was on the list of guests but her name was removed later.
It merits mention that the ruling PTI clinched the PP-38, Sialkot IV, seat by defeating PML-N in what turned out to be a major upset. PTI candidate Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar got 60,588 votes whereas PML-N’s Chaudhry Tariq Akhtar was polled 53,571 votes.
