Rafiq Nayyar's name finalized for technocrat seat, Pir Ali Raza Bukhari finalized for Ulema Mashaikh

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – After clinching majority with 25 seats in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, the PTI has started work to form government and decided to appoint Abdul Rashid Turabi, former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) amir, as the AJK adviser to the prime minister.

It is noteworthy here that the JI has terminated the basic membership of its former emir and sitting member of the Legislative Assembly for withdrawing his candidature in favour of a PTI candidate.

According to the sources, Rafiq Nayyar s name has been finalized for the technocrat seat. However, Nayyar played an important role in winning the Khuiratta seat. It added that the party made a written agreement with Rafiq Nayyar for technocrat seat.

On the other hand, the name of Dr Pir Ali Raza Bukhari has been finalized for the seat of Ulema and Mashaikh. Pir Ali Raza Bukhari is a renowned religious scholar of Azad Jammu Kashmir. He is also Sajjada Nasheen of Dargah Basaan Shareef.

Meanwhile, the PTI decided to appoint Abdul Rashid Turabi as the AJK adviser to the prime minister.

Abdul Rashid Turabi who served as JIAJK emir for 21 years (from 1990 to 2002 and from 2008 to 2017), was elected as the member of the sitting assembly as an ally of the PML-N against a seat reserved for the technocrats. Rashid Turabi withdraws in favour of PTI candidate.
