Pakistan reports 1,050 coronavirus cases, 37 deaths in 24 hours

Pakistan has so far conducted 14,113,670 coronavirus tests

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan has reported 37 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 948,268. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 21,977 on Sunday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 1,050 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 344,970 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 331,659 in Sindh, 136,973 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 82,344 in Islamabad, 26,585 in Balochistan, 19,934 in Azad Kashmir and 5,803 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 14,113,670 coronavirus tests and 41,065 in the last 24 hours.


 PIA special flight airlifts over 1.5m doses of Chinese vaccine


A special consignment of Chinese coronavirus vaccine of 1.55 million doses has arrived Islamabad airport through a special PIA flight from China.

According to National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the consignment is part of planned contracted quantity purchased from China, which has taken special measures to ensure uninterrupted supply of vaccines to Pakistan.

The forum further said that another consignment of 2-3 Million doses of Chinese vaccines will reach Pakistan next week.
