QUETTA (Dunya News) - Pakistan on Friday has imposed new travel bans on the Pak-Afghan border and has closed the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate in Chaman, Balochistan for bilateral pedestrian traffic due to surge in COVID-19 cases in Afghanistan, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, the travel ban will remain imposed till further orders. However, Pakistanis who are currently in Afghanistan can return while following strict coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Afghans nationals in Pakistan can also return to their home country.

Sources further said that the ban will not affect Pak-Afghan bilateral trade which will remain continue during this period.
