7 MNAs barred from entering NA over 'grossly disorderly' conduct
The MNAs are not to enter the Parliament House till further notice: Speaker
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Wednesday barred seven Members of National Assembly from entering the parliament over ‘grossly disorderly’ conduct.
According to the order, on 14th and 15th June, during the speech of the Leader of the Opposition on budget 2021-22, the conduct of the seven lawmakers was grossly disorderly as they violated the rules and despite repeated directions, they interrupted proceedings of the House.
The lawmakers include Ali Gohar Khan, Chaudhry Hamid Hameed, Sheikh Rohale Asghar, Faheem Khan, Abdul Majeed Khan, Ali Nawaz Awan and Syed Agha Rafiullah.
“Therefore, I order the withdrawal of aforesaid members of the precincts of the National Assembly immediately. These members are required not to enter into the precincts of the Parliament House till further notice", the Speaker said.
It merits mention that Ali Nawaz Awan, a member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), hit Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sheikh Rohale Asghar with a book on the face after heated exchange of words.
As soon as Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif begins his speech in the National Assembly, there was a commotion from the government benches in the House and the government members stood on their seats.
Federal ministers Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry were also among the sloganeers. On this occasion, PML-N members formed a fence around the opposition leader.
NA Speaker Asad Qaiser urged treasury and opposition benches to show restraint but failed to control the situation, after which he had to adjourn the session for 20 minutes.
