Armed forces sacrificed their lives for the country's safety: Sheikh Rashid
WANA (Dunya News) - Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan and said that they have sacrificed their lives for the country’s safety.
Sheikh Rashid said this while addressing a jirga during his visit to South Waziristan on Friday. The Interior Minister reached Wana in South Waziristan where he visited a scout camp and met tribal elders.
The elders present in the jirga welcomed Sheikh Rashid and presented a traditional turban. They also paid rich tributes to the Pakistan Army for maintaining peace and regional development. The tribal elders also presented suggestions for solutions to various problems of the area.
In his address on the occasion, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that tribal people are true patriots and the whole nation is proud of them for their valuable sacrifices in eradicating the enemies of Pakistan.
He said that he was a supporter of the tradition of jirga and the area should enforce laws according to its traditions. He also assured that immigration would be simplified to facilitate movement across the Pak-Afghan border.
Sheikh Rashid said that internet facility has been provided in South Waziristan and funds will be provided for further development of the area.
