Kuwait restores family, business visas for Pakistani citizens after decade

KUWAIT CITY (Dunya News) – Kuwait on Sunday announced the opening of visas for Pakistani citizens after a long gap of 10 years.
This was announced by Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah while talking to Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad in Kuwait on Sunday.
The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed discussed issue of visa restoration with the Kuwaiti prime minister and also presented him a special letter from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, it has been decided to immediately restore family and business visas between Pakistan and Kuwait.
It has also been decided to issue Kuwaiti visas to Pakistani workers under the agreement. In addition, there will be no restrictions on technical visas in the medical and oil fields. Online visa facility will also be available for Pakistanis living in Gulf countries.
According to statistics, there were 180,000 Pakistanis in Kuwait till 2010, while only 3,000 people have been able to enter the Gulf country since the visa ban in 2011.
Speaking on the occasion, the Kuwaiti Prime Minister said that we have a cordial relationship with Pakistan and the relations between the two countries are very long. He said the basis of mutual relations is mutual brotherhood and love.
Thanking the Kuwaiti Prime Minister on restoration of Visa for Pakistani citizens, Sheikh Rashid said that after this decision, huge job opportunities will be available for Pakistanis in Kuwait.
He said by lifting ban on business visa, the trade will also increase between the two countries.
