Case lodged against Tareen group's Nazir Chohan over Shahzad Akbar's complaint
The complainant maintained that the accused leveled baseless allegations against him in a TV program
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Punjab Nazir Chohan has on Saturday been lodged over the complaint of Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar.
The case against Nazir Chohan, a part of Jahangir Tareen group, has been filed at Lahore’s Race Course Police Station under Sections 506, 258, 189 and 153. The complainant maintained that the accused leveled baseless allegations against him in a TV program.
Shahzad Akbar took to Twitter and confirmed that a case against Nazir Chohan has been lodged over his complaint. He said some ignorant friends are still spreading misinformation on social media. The PM’s adviser also shared a copy of the FIR.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted, “Using religion card for personal vendetta is despicable Lahore Police must take strict action against Nazeer Chohan MPA for using third rated tactics against @ShazadAkbar Shahzad is doing his job State cannot function if it fails to safeguard his officials against such attacks.”
On the other hand, Nazir Chohan spoke exclusively to Dunya News and alleged that it has been revealed today Shahzad Akbar ran a planned campaign against him. He said he is a law abiding citizen and will surrender to police at 02:00 PM outside Data Darbar.
