Leader of the House in Senate Shehzad Waseem calls on PM Imran

Matters relating to legislation in the Upper House of Parliament were discussed during the meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Leader of the House in Senate Shehzad Waseem called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Friday and discussed the matters relating to legislation in the Upper House of Parliament as well as the next budget.

Senator Shehzad Waseem lauded the efforts of Prime Minister for the positive change in economic indicators despite the COVID-19 pandemic due to the government’s policies.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Ameen Gandapur, Member National Assembly Amir Mehmood Kayani and Senator Saifullah Niazi also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday.

During the meeting, strategy for the upcoming elections in Azad Kashmir was discussed.

Earlier, members of the National Assembly from Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed the matters pertaining to development works in their respective constituencies.

Among those who called on the prime minister from Punjab included MNA Shaukat Ali Bhatti, former MP Mahdi Hassan Bhatti and MPA Khalid Gujjar.

During the meeting, they apprised the prime minister of ongoing development projects in Hafizabad and Raiwind.

MNA Nasrullah Dareshak and Ali Raza Dareshak also separately met the prime minister and discussed the positive impacts of the measures taken by the government for uplift of South Punjab and development projects in their respective constituencies.

Meanwhile, the MNAs form Balochistan including Muhammad Khan Jamali and Munawara Bibi Baloch also met the prime minister and deliberated over the massive scale development being carried out as part of government’s special attention towards province’s uplift.

Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs and Chief Whip Amir Dogar also attended the said meetings.

On the other hand, Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs Malik Amir Dogar, MNAs Attaullah Khan, Faheem Khan, Aftab Jahangir, Aslam Khan and Capt (r) Jameel Khan were present in the meeting.

Besides a detailed discussion on the problems of Karachi, the meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing federal government projects in the provincial metropolis.

Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh and Members of the National Assembly Muhammad Iqbal Afridi and Sajida Begum also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs Malik Amir Dogar was also present in the meeting during which the country’s political situation was discussed.

Meanwhile, Member National Assembly (MNA) Ahmad Hussain Dehar also separately called on the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, matters relating to South Punjab Secretariat and the progress of development projects in his constituency were discussed.
