Govt to open Covid vaccine registration for all 19 years and above from May 27

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Wednesday has announced that the coronavirus vaccination registration for citizens of 19 years and above will open from May 27.

In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the minister said that in today’s National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) meeting we decided to open up vaccination registration for all 19 years and above.”

“This registration will start from tomorrow. So now registration will be open for the entire national population which is approved by health experts for COVID-19 vaccination,” he added.  

On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 65 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 908,576. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 20,465.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 2,724 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 9,875 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,942 in Sindh, 3,990 in KP, 748 in Islamabad, 532 in Azad Kashmir, 271 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.

Furthermore, 336,315 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 311,766 in Sindh, 130,644 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 80,662 in Islamabad, 24,733 in Balochistan, 18,940 in Azad Kashmir and 5,516 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 12,943,620 coronavirus tests and 59,076 in the last 24 hours. 827,843 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,242 patients are in critical condition.
