Govt taking steps for development of people of Balochistan: PM Imran
The PM was given detailed briefing on various recommendations for setting up of border markets
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said federal government was taking steps on priority basis for the development of the people of Balochistan.
Chairing meeting of overall situation and development issues in Balochistan today (Wednesday), he directed the concerned federal agencies to finalize the suggestions of the provincial government regarding law and order and socio-economic development.
Chief Secretary Balochistan briefed the Prime Minister about Corona situation in the province and the steps taken to prevent spread of the virus. During the meeting, recommendations were presented on the availability of essential items on affordable rates, provision of funds at the federal and provincial level for development projects in the province, use of energy resources, especially renewable energy, and the development of the agricultural sector.
The prime minister was also given a detailed briefing on various recommendations for setting up of border markets along the Pak-Iran border and taking advantage of opportunities for socio-economic development.
He was also briefed on the overall law and order situation in the province, police and Counter Terrorism Department s capacity building.
