LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered government to end long queues of customers at Ramadan Bazars to buy sugar at cheaper rates and called for a compliance report to be submitted to the bench tomorrow.
According to details, the LHC observed that people wait in long queues for hours to get one kilogram of sugar and government is turning the people into beggars.
The bench remarked that insulting people by making them stand in long queues is a grave violation of the Constitution.
Government counsel said that people are not being made to stand in queues at Ramadan Bazaars but provided with chairs to sit while waiting their turn to buy the commodity.
The court warned the government counsel that contempt of court proceedings will be launched if his statements about chairs is proved wrong.
