ECP lauds administration, police for conducting fair elections in NA-75

Pakistan Army and Rangers also played vital role in handling the situation on the polling day: ECP

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday has lauded the administration and police for conducting fair and transparent polls in National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-75.

In a statement, the ECP spokesman said that by-election in Daska was held in peaceful environment. Pakistan Army and Rangers also played vital role in handling the situation on the polling day, he added.

The spokesman further hailed the services of polling staff.

Earlier, PML-N candidate Nosheen Iftikhar won the by-election in NA-75 Daska and secured 111,220 votes, whereas PTI’s Ali Asjad Malhi obtained 92,019 votes.

The polling that started at 8am continued till 5 pm without any break. 360 polling stations were setup for the 4,94000 registered voters in the constituency. Out of which, 47 polling stations were declared sensitive by the ECP.

To deal with any untoward situation, Rangers and police were deployed in the constituency with Pakistan Army soldiers on standby.
