You should follow Imran Khan if you want to be selected: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz on Saturday lashed out at Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and termed the narrative of ‘Ek Zardari sub pay bhari’ shameful.

Talking to media persons, Maryam Nawaz said that causing damage to democratic struggle just to get a minor, inconsequential position in Senate is unfortunate and said that on one side there are those who are sacrificing their own wellbeing for the public and its right to rule, while on the other side are those who have sacrificed all their principles and narrative for a minor position.

"I am glad that this line has been drawn and that everyone recognizes who is standing where," she said.

Maryam Nawaz said “If you really wanted this meaningless and inconsequential post, you should have asked Nawaz Sharif for it. It’s not like we could have formed a government with it even if the PML-N got the post”, she said.

The PML-N leader said that it was first time in her life that the Opposition Leader was elected with support of government members.

She further asked PPP to accept that the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) voted for their candidate and said “If you want to be subservient; if you want to be selected, then you should follow Imran Khan, who does this stubbornly and shamelessly”.

PML-N, JUI-F and other parties are more than enough to give tough time to the incumbent government, she added.
