Lahore High Court: NAB's petition against Maryam Nawaz set for hearing

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court has set for hearing National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s petition against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Asjad Javed Ghural will conduct the hearing on March 25.

NAB had approached the Lahore High Court against Maryam Nawaz’s announcement of bringing PDM workers to her NAB appearance on March 26.

The petition filed by NAB in the Lahore High Court pointed out that Maryam Nawaz has been summoned by NAB for inquiry in two cases on March 26, following which she announced to appear along with PDM workers.

NAB said in its LHC petition that the appearance of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in NAB office along with a mob would be an impediment to the inquiry against her.

It said that Maryam Nawaz has threatened that she would not appear alone before NAB, which shows that she wants to obstruct the investigation instead of appearing for inquiry. NAB had requested that Maryam Nawaz be restrained from bringing party workers along with her on March 26.

Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court approved Maryam Nawaz’s interim bail till April 12 and barred the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting her.
