NAB approaches court against Maryam's announcement of bringing party workers to March 26 appearance

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approached the Lahore High Court against PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s announcement of bringing PDM workers to her NAB appearance on March 26.

The petition filed by NAB in the Lahore High Court points out that Maryam Nawaz has been summoned by NAB for inquiry in two cases on March 26, following which she has announced to appear along with PDM workers.

NAB says in its LHC petition that the appearance of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in NAB office along with a mob would be an impediment to the inquiry against her.

The petition says that Maryam Nawaz has threatened that she would not appear alone before NAB, which shows that she wants to obstruct the investigation instead of appearing for inquiry. NAB has requested that Maryam Nawaz be restrained from bringing party workers along with her on March 26.

Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court approved Maryam Nawaz’s interim bail till April 12 and barred the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting her.
