Cases against firing on policemen in twin cities registered

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Separate cases of firing incidents targeting security officers in twin cities have been registered at two police stations.

According to details, murder and terrorism provisions have been included in the first information report (FIR). While recording the statement, injured sub-inspector Jameel told that the attack on him was planned.

Earlier, one policeman was killed and two including a sub-inspector were injured in a firing incident on a police party on patrol in the federal capital Islamabad.

The incident took place in Sector G-13 in Islamabad when some unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on the police personnel and fled the scene. Sub-inspector Jameel, head constable Qasim and constable Qaiser sustained injuries in the shooting.

As soon as the mishap was reported, a heavy contingent of police and rescue teams reached the spot and cordoned off the area. Rescue teams rushed the injured policemen to the hospital by ambulance where head constable Qasim succumbed to the injuries.
