Protests in Islamabad over killing of a prayer leader, son
Protesters demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) –Residents of Bara Kahu and family of the victims on Sunday blocked Murree Road as they protested with the bodies of slain mosque prayer leader, his son and a student.
The protesters blocked both the tracks of the road in Bara Kahu, causing a massive gridlock. Police were engaged in talks with the protesters demanding immediate arrest of the assailants.
However, after assurances from the officials the protestors dispersed with warning of more protests if criminals not arrested.
On the other, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of JUI-F, strongly condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Government has completely failed to maintain law and order in the country as innocent citizens are being shot dead in federal capital in broad day light, he said.
