MQM-P excuses from attending luncheon hosted by PTI to discuss Senate polls

KARACHI (Dunya News) – A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Sunday has excused from attending the luncheon arranged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to discuss Senate polls.

According to details, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi told that MQM-P is government’s allies and that its members were unable to participate in the session due to their busy schedule.

It is to be mentioned here that PTI had arranged a meeting of MQM-P and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) over the Senate elections.

Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had offered two Senate seats from Sindh to MQM-P in return for vote to Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) joint candidate for Senate polls, Yousuf Raza Gillani.

Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that PPP’s candidates are ready to hand over the general and women seat to the MQM-P for support to Yusuf Raza Gillani in Senate elections.

A PPP delegation comprising Nasir Hussain Shah, Murtaza Wahab, Sharjeel Memon and Waqar Mehdi visited MQM-P headquarters in Bahadurabad, where they were welcomed by the party’s senior deputy convener Amir Khan.

MQM leader Aamir Khan thanked the PPP delegation for coming to the MQM Markaz.
