PM welcomes Sri Lanka's notification regarding burial for those dying of COVID-19
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday has welcomed the notification of the Sri Lankan government, regarding the burial option for those dying of coronavirus.
The premier has taken to social-networking website Twitter and posted, “I thank the Sri Lankan leadership and welcome the Sri Lankan government’s official notification allowing the burial option for those dying of Covid 19.”

The reaction came as Sri Lankan government lifted a controversial ban on the burial of bodies of people who die of COVID-19 disease, a health ministry spokesman said.
The ban was lifted after months of protests specially by Muslim community.
Earlier, the PM had said that Sri Lanka is a special friend and a strong partner of Pakistan.
In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the premier thanked the leadership and the people of Sri Lanka for warm reception and gracious hospitality during his tour.
It is to be mentioned here that PM Imran has recently concluded his two-day official visit to Sri Lanka where he met with the senior leadership and bussiness community and invited them to visit Pakistan.
