Dense fog disrupts road and air traffic in Punjab

The Motorway police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights while driving.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Dense fog blanketed different cities of Punjab, including Lahore on night between Monday and Tuesday, paralysing routine life and disrupting road and air traffic, Dunya News reported.

The flight operation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore was disrupted as the visibility was very low and several incoming or outgoing flights from Lahore were either delayed or cancelled.

The thick fog has badly affected the flow of road traffic in several cities of Punjab. According to a Motorway spokesman, the Motorway sections from Lahore to Samundri (M3) has been closed as visibility was below 50 metres.

Similar situation exists in several cities in the plain areas of Punjab including Manga Mandi, Phool Nagar and Pattoke and affected road traffic on the National Highway.

The Motorway police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights while driving at very slow speed as the visibility was dropped to zero due to dense fog. The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
