Chaudhry Sarwar said transparent Senate elections will strengthen the democracy and parliament.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Friday said that Senate polls by open balloting will benefit the opposition, and asked that why Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is nervous in doing that.

The Punjab governor said in his statement that transparent Senate elections will strengthen the democracy and parliament. Those who want mid-term elections must wait until 2023, he said.

Chaudhry Sarwar said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan promised the nation to eliminate the menace of corruption and history is witness to the fact that he does what he commits.

“No society can make progress without eradicating corruption and ensuring transparency. The incumbent government wants to stabilize the country with an agenda to provide relief in ever sector while the opposition wants to weaken Pakistan.”
