ECP issues notification of Rangers, FC deployment in upcoming by-elections

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notification for deployment of Rangers and FC in the by-elections on eight vacant seats of National and Provincial Assemblies.

According to the notification, Rangers and FC personnel will be deployed outside all polling stations in the eight by-election constituencies for a total of three days.

The Election Commission has delegated magisterial powers to Rangers and FC security officers. Officers stationed outside polling stations will be able to take action on any irregularities or violations.

However, all security officers will be required to notify the relevant presiding officers before taking action.

By-elections are scheduled for February 16 in PB-20 Pishin, PS-43 Sanghar and PS-88 Malir.

On February 19, by-elections will be held in NA-45 Kurram, NA-75 Sialkot, PP-51 Gujranwala and PK-63 Nowshera. Lastly, by-election will be held in NA-221 Tharparkar on February 21.
