'PML-N participating in Senate polls to stop govt from attaining two-third majority'
Government can roll back 18th Amendment with majority in Senate, Ahsan Iqbal said.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday said his party will participate in the Senate elections to stop the federal government from attaining two-third majority.
Ahsan Iqbal talked to media and said, “The government can roll back the 18th Amendment with majority in the Upper House. The incumbent regime is mortgaging the national properties to pay loans. Why is Prime Minister Imran Khan not mortgaging his 300-kanal palace?
“The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is divided and its members are also backing the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) narrative.
“It has become necessary to send this government packing to save the country. The government is looting Pakistan under the label of honesty. Corruption at police stations and courts is at peak.
“Crores of rupees are being spent on fake cases which had been lodged only for character assassination. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is discriminating against the opposition.
“Rs 2.5 billion were spent on the Narowal Sports City project but reference was filed after distorting the figure to six billion rupees. I got the projects completed by perusing them. PML-N’s ventures are spread everywhere.”
