Another doctor dies of coronavirus in Islamabad
Dr Manzoor was on ventilator at the PIMS Hospital for the past one month.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Coronavirus has claimed life of another doctor of the PIMS Hospital in Islamabad on Friday night, Dunya News reported.
According to details, Deputy Director of the PIMS Hospital Emergency Ward, Dr Manzoor, succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday. Dr Manzoor was on ventilator for the past one month.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has reported 45 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 514,338. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 10,863 on Friday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 2,417 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
Till now 231,953 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 147,953 in Punjab, 62,719 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,515 in Balochistan, 39,749 in Islamabad, 8,567 in Azad Kashmir and 4,882 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
