Overseas Commission Punjab decides to seek PM's help to retrieve land

Commission Vice chairman said the authorities failed to recover properties of overseas Pakistanis.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Overseas Commission Punjab on Sunday decided to write a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan over land grabbing of Pakistanis living abroad.

The commission will inform the prime minister about non-cooperation from the local administration and the police through a letter, while Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will also be briefed on the situation.

The Overseas Commission Vice chairman Waseem Chaudhry in a statement said that the authorities failed to recover properties of overseas Pakistanis worth over Rs 40 billion in Lahore alone.

He said that the local administration was not taking action on the complaints of 260 overseas Pakistanis in Lahore, while 218 complaints related to housing scheme, police and revenue were also pending.

The statement further stated that two complaints related to the cooperative department have been pending for a long time, adding that no action is being taken on the property cases of four overseas Pakistanis related to LDA.

Waseem Chaudhry went on to say that the commission has written several letters to the Additional Chief Secretary, police and local administration but no cooperation is being provided.
