PTI government's day of reckoning is near: Hamza Shehbaz

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has tendered his resignation at a parliamentary meeting of the party on Monday.

According to sources, Hamza Shahbaz presented the resignation and said that he would abide by whatever decision is taken by the party and PDM.

Hamza Shehbaz said during the meeting that PTI government’s day of reckoning is near and despite its repeated efforts, PML-N is united under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shehbaz Sharif.

He said the country’s economy is in shambles at the hands of novice and confused rulers, whose punishment is being meted out by the public. The gang of incompetents is trying to hide behind state institutions in order to hide their own failures, he added.

Hamza Shehbaz said that soon, with the Grace of Allah, the tide will turn and real democracy will flourish in the country under the leadership of PML-N.

The PML-N leader said that the government has become hollow. “I want to say with confidence that when Pakistan’s sinking economy will be chronicled, NAB and its alliance with Imran Khan Niazi will be at the forefront”, he said.

"I am not worried about my case or the arrest by NAB, I am worried about the labor whose children suffer from starvation, I cry over the helplessness of the common man," the PML-N leader said.

He said that the wounds inflicted to the nation by the selected rulers would have to be accounted for. A country which was self-sufficient in wheat and sugar is unable to provide sufficient quantities despite being so expensive.

Hamza Shehbaz said that people are worried about the rise in prices of flour, sugar, petroleum products, electricity and gas but the Prime Minister says that everything will be fine. He said that he doesn’t see any ray of hope for the future because when the economy weakens, nations sink.
