PDM to hold final rally in Lahore today, preparations in full swing

LAHORE (Dunya News) - As Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is all set to hold their final power show at Lahore’s Minar e Pakistan on Sunday before embarking on a long march to Islamabad, Pakistan Peoples  Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz have reached the rally venue to participate in the rally.

PDM head and JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, Akhtar Mengal and other leaders of the movement will address the rally.

Preparations are well underway with PML-N party songs and anthems being played in the rally grounds. Five points of entry into the ground have been devised, one of which will be reserved for VVIPs.

A separate entrance point and enclosure has been built for female workers, the security of which has been handed over to JUI’s Ansar ul Islam volunteers and PML-N’s Sher Jawan Force.

Generators have been installed for uninterrupted power supply to the rally while special flood light poles have also been installed. Large banners with pictures of PDM’s central leaders and slogans have also been hung around the grounds.

Stages, one for central leadership and one for others, have been built for the rally. A main LED screen measuring 20 ft high and 80ft tall and 10 smaller ones measuring 10 feet high and 15 feet wide have been installed around different parts of the rally grounds.

Some major announcements are expected at PDM’s main event as the opposition parties have convened a pre-rally meeting at half past noon today.

The meeting between central PDM leaders will be held at the residence of former Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. After the meeting, all leaders will leave together towards the rally ground.
