Resignations of PDM members continue to pile up, top leaders yet to partake

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The resignations of parliamentarians part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) continue to come in, however, President Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari are yet to resign.

According to sources, more than 25 PML-N members of the National Assembly have submitted their resignations to the party leadership. About a dozen PPP members of National and Provincial Assemblies including Agha Rafiullah, Qadir Patel, Shahid Rahmani and Shagufta Jamani have also resigned.

14 JUI-F members of all provincial assemblies have submitted resignations from their respective assemblies to Maulana Fazlur Rehman while resignations of members of BNP Mengal, ANP and PAKMAP have also been received by the party leadership.

Sources said that the resignations have been written in the name of National and Provincial Assemblies’ Speakers. Once all resignations are received, they will be sent simultaneously to the Speakers of National and Provincial Assemblies. However, the resignations will be handed over to the speakers after PDM holds its planned long march.
