CPEC to become hub to promote regional trade in post-COVID-19 era: Asim Bajwa

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that CPEC will become a hub for the promotion of regional trade and bilateral ties in the post-COVID-19 era, Dunya News reported on Monday.
During a meeting with Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood in Islamabad on Monday, Asim Salim Bajwa underscored that the CPEC Authority was committed to ensuring that CPEC projects were completed on time.
The chairman CPEC Authority hoped that the 10th JCC, likely to be held in the near future, will create more economic opportunities and contribute to further expansion of CPEC projects.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan would welcome relocation of industry from China and in that regard will institute a regime that could encourage inflow of Chinese investments to Pakistan.
Earlier, Asim Salim Bajwa called on Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi. During the meeting, the progress on various CPEC projects was discussed.
Syed Ali Haider Zaidi appreciated the efforts of the chairman CPEC authority and his team to ensure swift completion of the various projects and expressed hope that the CPEC would transform Pakistan into an industrial and logistical hub.
