Govt imposes fine of Rs 100 for not wearing facemasks

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - In view of the growing threat of coronavirus in the country, the government has decided to impose a fine of Rs 100 on citizens who do not use masks.

According to details, the National Command and Control Center (NCOC) has recommended the move in a bid to deal with the growing number of coronavirus cases in the country.

According to the NCOC, the new directive will apply to all major cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Hyderabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Peshawar, Quetta, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Abbottabad.

Along with the Rs 100 fine, violators will be given three facemasks.

In addition, indoor weddings and outdoor weddings with more than a thousand attendees will no longer be allowed. SOPs must be strictly enforced during these wedding ceremonies, NCOC said.

In government and private offices, 50% of the staff will come to the workplace while the remaining 50% will be instructed to work from home.
