Second phase of anti-polio drive starts in divisions of Sindh
Pakistan so far reported a total of 80 polio cases in 2020 out of which 22 cases are from Sindh.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The second phase of seven-day anti-polio campaign started in three divisions of Sindh, including Karachi on Monday, Dunya News reported.
During the seven-day anti-polio campaign, 6 million children under 5 years of age in Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas divisions will be vaccinated against polio.
According to Emergency Operations Center Sindh, in the first phase of anti-polio campaign, 3.4 million children were vaccinated in Larkana, Sukkur and Benazirabad.
Pakistan is one of the two polio-endemic countries in the world along with Afghanistan and has so far reported a total of 80 polio cases in 2020 out of which 22 cases are from Sindh.
