Opposition stages walkout for not allowing to speak on national issues in NA

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The opposition parties on Friday have walked out of the National Assembly (NA) session in protest against not allowing to speak on the issues of the general masses.

During the session, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member of the assembly Naveed Qamar said that we cannot become the part of the proceedings as we are not permitted to carry out debate on national issues.

Following the opposition’s walkout, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser said it is the collective responsibility of the treasury and opposition benches to respect the decorum of the house.

The speaker said he has always given equal opportunities to the treasury and opposition benches to express their views.

He said the way house held threadbare discussion on the budget and other issues is part of the history. We all should respect the sanctity of the house, Asad Qaiser urged.

While expressing the regret on the conduct of opposition parties in NA, Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan said the proceedings of the house can only be conducted as per the rules and regulations and the directions of the chair.
