Pakistan on Wednesday reported highest coronavirus deaths in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - National Command Operation Center (NCOC) has directed Chief Secretaries of all provinces to ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to novel coronavirus pandemic.

NCOC has expressed concern over rising number of coronavirus cases and deaths from the virus. It has urged special attention on high risk sectors like transportation, markets, banquet halls and restaurants.

It has also stressed on ensuring mandatory mask wearing and social distancing and recommended strict action against violators of government orders.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan on Wednesday reported highest coronavirus deaths in last 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 324,744. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 6,692.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 142,348 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 101,936 in Punjab, 38,779 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,309 in Islamabad, 15,717 in Balochistan, 3,564 in Azad Kashmir and 4,091 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
