Prime Minister confident in face of PDM offensive
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that his government is unbothered by the PDM movement and it will not give any relief to the opposition parties.
According to details, in a meeting of government spokespersons held under the chairmanship of PM Imran Khan, the current political climate and rising inflation in the country were discussed.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the spokespersons to highlight PML-N government’s Rs 2.5 billion expenditure in 2017’s NA-120 by-elections, aimed at helping former First Lady Kulsoom Nawaz win the election.
During the meeting, the spokespersons expressed concern over the rising inflation in the country. The Prime Minister said that steps were being taken to curb inflation and it would soon be brought under control. Raids are being carried out to fight hoarding, overpricing of grocery items, he added.
He said that the government’s focus is on reducing inflation, improving the economy and ensuring consumer protection.
Talking about the opposition’s planned protests and rallies, Imran Khan said that this was not the first time they had come out to protect their thievery, all they want is relief in accountability cases, which we will never give. He said the government allowed opposition to hold rallies so that they cannot use the political revenge card in the future.
The Prime Minister said that even some of PTI’s candidates lost by very small margins. In Punjab, the opposition filed 11 election review petitions while PTI filed 13, we made a sincere offer to investigate election fraud but the opposition provided no evidence.
