QUETTA (Dunya News) – The first public meeting of newly-formed Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition parties to out the government, which was scheduled to be held on October 11 has been canceled. The public meeting will now be held on October 18, Dunya News reported.
According to Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) sources, the party had already announced a public meeting in Quetta on October 18 before the APC, on which it was suggested to the opposition alliance to cancel the rally on October 11 and hold a rally on October 18. On the suggestion of JUI, PDM has canceled the meeting on October 11. Now the meeting of PDM will be held on October 18 in Quetta.
Sources said that the PDM s October 18 public meeting in Quetta will be hosted by Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP).
Ahsan Iqbal, convener of PDM s steering committee, has also confirmed the new date for the public meeting. Sources further said that JUI-F public meeting of October 25 in Quetta has also been canceled.
