Sh Rasheed dares opposition to resign from assemblies

The only aim of the opposition is to create hindrance for PM Imran in acquiring a majority in Senate

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Thursday challenged the opposition to resign from assemblies and said that the government will hold new general elections in the country.

Talking to media in Faisalabad on Thursday, he took a jibe at the opposition parties and said that what was said that caused a stir. He asked if it isn’t an honor meeting the army chief.

“PPP will never agree to resign from Sindh Assembly as they know that they could lose the province in case of re-election,” he said.

Lashing out at Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman, the minister said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thrice mentioned his name yesterday during press conference, adding that once should ask one have I done to him. “If late former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was alive, she would have told who is Sheikh Rasheed.”

Rasheed claimed that everyone including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Moulana Fazlur Rehman and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari hold one-on-one meetings with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, adding that he would expose every leader on Saturday in Lahore.

“The only aim of the opposition parties is to create hindrance for PM Imran Khan in acquiring a majority in the Senate,” he said.

“Bilawal said he would not attend a meeting if Sheikh Rashid is attending the same meeting,” Sheikh Rasheed said and added I can answer them but I do not want to cross the line of morality.

“The PPP chairman hadn’t even born when I was a member of the national security committee, the minister added.
