CM Buzdar visits District Jail Multan, Superintendent suspended over negligence
MULTAN (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has suspended Chaudhry Arshad Warraich, the Superintendent of District Jail Multan, over negligence of prisoners’ rights and his duties.
According to details, Sardar Usman Buzdar visited District Jail Multan on Thursday. He inspected the jail hospital and reviewed the treatment facilities provided to the inmate patients. He directed officials to provide the best treatment possible to prisoners suffering from heart ailments.
CM Usman Buzdar distributed gifts among the prisoners and visited their cells to meet them and inquire about their problems. He said that he has come to solve their problems and they should speak their minds without any hesitation.
The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the slow moving fans in the cells and directed the installation of exhaust fans. When Usman Buzdar asked for the complaint box to be opened, the jail staff could not find its key and later on, it was found to be empty.
He asked that if the complaint boxes are empty then what is their purpose? The jail superintendent could not give a satisfactory answer to the water in an electric water cooler being warm either.
