JI stages sit-in on Lahore Mall Road against motorway rape incident

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami staged a sit-in against last week’s gang-rape incident near the Lahore motorway. JI leader Siraj-ul-Haq said that due to lawlessness in the country, savages are roaming the streets.

The JI Chief, in his address to the sit-in, said that women of Pakistan are unable to go out of their house alone, even children are not safe but the rulers are still touting ‘tabdeeli’. The public has to rise up against the present system, he said.

Siraj-ul-Haq said that according to the report of the federal ombudsman, the crime rate has increased by 25% as compared to last year. This should be a matter of utter shame for the rulers.

He said the only change that PTI has brought is changing five IGs in Punjab. We need change in PTI, Prime Minister, Governor Punjab and Chief Minister, he added.
