Earthquake of 4.4 magnitude shakes Mirpur
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
MIRPUR (Dunya News) – An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted Mirpur and its adjacent areas in Azad Kashmir on Thursday night, Dunya News reported. The tremor was also felt in some parts of Punjab.
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported from any area of Mirpur due to earthquake.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the quake which struck on Thursday was located 30 kilometres north of Jhelum at the depth of 10 kilometres.
